You booked...now what?
Photoshoot Guide
In most cases, clients need help preparing! The wardrobe, locations, shyness, and what to expect. Have no fear, this guide will help with your upcoming photoshoot and applies to most - if not, all - photoshoots!
EARLY PREPARATION
Excitement, "a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness".
A key factor to any photoshoot is excitement and willing participation. Although kids can be understandably dreading a photoshoot, my best tip is to make it seem fun, NOT a chore. I try to let children play and run about a location to capture raw happiness and excitement.
Wardrobe is very important to make your photos look put together and I should begin this by saying I am not a Boho style photographer. You can check my portfolio for examples but I love cozy and modern looks, sometimes classy or even cottagecore depending on the type of photos . Although there is nothing wrong with buying a new outfit, I'm sure your home wardrobe would contain something we both will love. Comfortability is important in what you're wearing!
I recommend for family or group sessions to refrain from wearing the exact same outfit, and instead opt for a coordinating style; only have a few members wearing a pattern if you wish to do so, and the rest wear complimentary colours. Just like these wonderful past clients had done.
DAY OF, AND WHAT TO EXPECT!!!
When we arrive at the chosen location I'll run quick introductions (please excuse me if I forget names in big groups, it happens all the time), and give you a game plan of how I usually handle the type of photoshoot booked! I take small breaks in between photos to chit chat with clients as it seems to bring comfort and makes it feel stress free.
Session length depends on your chosen package although I'm not strict unless I have another client to meet after you. Some sessions can be longer or shorter than expected. As we wrap up, I'll give you a rough wait time for your gallery although my average is 2-3 weeks depending on the type of session/season.
What if's?
If it rains - I keep an eye on the weather forecast as our booked date gets closer, but if it suddenly calls for rain or any storm there are three options; take them in the rain, postpone, or cancel (refer to my cancellation policy).
What if I (the photographer) or you (the clients) get sick? - If I get sick (which is very unlikely to happen) and don't think I'm capable of giving 100% at your session I will give you the option to postpone or cancel. If you choose to cancel, your Non-refundable deposit WILL be refunded in this instance, since I am the one who can't fulfill this service. On the other hand if any client gets truthfully sick and I am given enough notice, we will postpone but your deposit will not be refunded. Please refer to Cancellation policy.
